"Find Out Who Ya Are and Do It on Purpose" - Dolly Parton
Alyssa is a proud equity membership candidate who currently resides in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She got bit by the theatre bug at age 11 after watching the national tour of Les Miserables and never looked back! Growing up in a musical family, Alyssa got her start singing Southern Gospel on tour across the states with her parents, and eventually transitioned her love of music and dancing into theatre. After years of watching the Riverdance VHS and performing the steps in her living room for her parents, she decided to pursue a degree in musical theatre, and graduated cum laude from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
She has over a decade of professional experience in the theatre circuit, and has worked all over the U.S, as well as internationally! Her career has ranged from performing on Norwegian cruise ships, national tours, Universal Studios Orlando, SeaWorld, and Legoland theme parks, to major regional theatre houses. She has worked under the direction of Tony nominee John Tartaglia and Broadway Veteran Eliseo Roman, and workshopped and premiered new musical theatre works at major regional and local theatre companies.
Stand out roles include "Doralee" in 9 to 5: The Musical, "Janet" in The Drowsy Chaperone, "The Narrator" in Joseph...Dreamcoat, and "Roxie Hart" in Chicago, just to name a few. She had the privilege of playing the "Devil" in Billy Edd Wheeler's Cat on the Roof, which made its debut at Mountainside Theatre in the summer of 2013, and got to work directly with the man who wrote the famous "Jackson" for Johnny Cash. She also had the opportunity to perform in the world premiere of "Gigolo: The New Cole Porter Revue" at Winter Park Playhouse, written by Paul Gilger.
Alyssa recently wrote and performed her second solo cabaret entitled "From Backwoods to Broadway" which she performed at Strasburg Railroad. She also recently founded an audition consulting business called "No Sweat Rep", and has been enjoying helping other actors build their professional careers.
